More than a school ... A Christ-centered community where every child is known, valued, and loved.
Our Beginning
In 2013, a devastating tornado tore through Canadian County, rendering the daycare at Canadian Valley Technology Center unusable. In the midst of rebuilding, the daycare’s leadership approached South Yukon Church of Christ with a simple request—to temporarily house their daycare within the church building while repairs were made.
What began as an act of generosity soon became something far greater. During this season, Gene Newberry, Family Life Minister at South Yukon Church of Christ, felt a clear prompting from the Holy Spirit that God was calling the church to do more. From that moment of obedience, Canadian Valley Christian Academy was born.
CVCA opened its doors with a preschool program, rooted in a mission to provide Christ-centered education and to partner with families in raising students grounded in faith and truth. Over the years, God has faithfully grown the school—expanding from preschool to serving students through 7th grade today. As we look ahead, the CVCA Board is prayerfully planning the next chapter: expanding to include a high school, with the goal of welcoming our first high school class in 2027. What began in the aftermath of a storm has become a testimony of God’s provision, vision, and continued faithfulness.

Our Future
If the Lord wills, the CVCA Board is prayerfully preparing to launch our first high school class in 2027. This expansion reflects our continued commitment to providing a strong, Christ-centered educational pathway for our students beyond middle school. We invite you to share this exciting news with individuals or families who may be interested in partnering with us through support of our expansion fund. Your partnership plays a vital role in helping us steward this vision and grow in a way that honors God and serves our community well.
